As a proud Haitian American, nothing makes me happier than sharing my culture with friends. Whether it’s through cooking or cultural apparel, I always find ways to express my love for Haiti.Today is the eve of one of the largest events that celebrate West Indian culture in the United States: The West Indian Day Carnival.
Every year my family and I book a hotel, cook up some of our favorite Haitian dishes, and get ready to chip down di road with our flags in the air! Earlier this year, I showcased a brand that embraces many of the same cultural ideals that I grew up with. G’wan by Charon is the brainchild of my fellow West Indian, Charon Richardson. Born in St. Croix, G’wan by Charon’s pieces have noticeable influences of the Caribbean. From the usage of bright colors and bold patterns, to the great use of power mesh ( my mother still scolds me to this day about leaving the house without shape wear– def a Caribbean thing ha!), I thought it would be fitting showcase another custom piece by G’wan by Charon’s Carnival Collection.
The Soca Swimsuit is the perfect bathing suits for someone who is looking for full coverage and complete hold. This The Soca Swimsuit gave me a lot of accentuation at the waist made me feel so SEXY! My thick thighs looked thicker and my waist was snatched to the gawds! I am definitely going to find a way to wear this as a body suit because the power mesh works wonders. One of the reasons why I never liked wear one pieces was because of the lack of shape or definition it gives my waist. I usually look more circular in the midsection, the Soca Swimsuit doesn’t allow for that. It sucks you in and lifts your boobs and butt. So what do you think about my PART TWO of the sexy swimsuit series?
