Plus Size Maxi Dresses with GCGme Designs

In Personal Style

Ever find yourself shopping around for something unique? You know, that outfit that you never tried before? Well I found this one store that carries beautiful clothing for plus size women! Most importantly, they go up to a size 4x!!! I’ve always been a fan of plus size maxi dresses but finding a fancy maxi dress (that didn’t show all that my momma’ gave me) is so hard. That is, until I found GCGme DesignsGCGme designs, develops and distributes a distinctive line of contemporary women’s apparel and fashion accessories worldwide.  Although GCGme is based in the USA, no matter where you live in the world, you can enjoy high-quality, elegant designer clothing at affordable prices.

If you look at my past posts, I don’t wear long gowns or maxi dresses because at times they always had a “cheap” finish. But, the one I found on GCGme caught my eye instantly! Chardline of Plus Size Beausion wearing a Plus Size Maxi Dress from GCGme Designs

Doesn’t this give a new definition to Maxi Dress?  This particular dress is called the MIRANDA – Half Sleeve Cross Over Maxi Dress with Waist Belt  . Working in a professional environment (you can actually see my building in the back lol) you need to wear “presentable” clothing everyday. Often times, I find myself battling between looking professional but not losing my sense of style. This maxi dress allows me to wear modest work attire and quench my insatiable thirst for style!

Also, I love the flow of this dress. It is always hard finding a maxi dress that doesn’t get stuck in between my thighs or other unmentionable places. Without getting into details, you know the maxi dress struggle! And to think, there’s A LOT MORE choices of dresses and jumpsuits to choose from!

Finding quarter length dresses that fits around my arms are also a hassle. It’s not easy fitting 19 inches of greatness into all sleeved dresses, but this maxi dress provides a little bit of stretch so that your arms don’t look like they are being stuffed in a can.

So what do you think? Want to try a different type of maxi dress? Currently, there are a lot on sale. I didn’t get to catch the sale the first time, but I am most definitely getting a second one! Maybe something around the lines of wedding chic lol!

Til next time,

That 70’s Show- Bell Bottoms and Vests

In Personal Style

Happy Friday! Can you believe it? My long weekend starts now and I’m still trying to get my post done right before me and my best friend leave. But I knew I couldn’t leave without posting something for y’all! So as of late I’ve been really getting into this “look”. I am not sure what you would call it but here are some looks that I loved! I guess we can say it’s a 2016 rendition of the 70’s.

Untitled design (14)

So in my search to curate this look, I knew the perfect place to find each of these items. Forever 21  never fails to have every piece of the puzzle.

Forever 21

From the vest, to the sweater, I found this whole look with ease. Forever 21 is often called the one stop shop of fast fashion because you can find almost anything you need.

Paired with my favorite pair of booties from Rainbows, my hat from Aerie, and bag from H&M, it was done deal! If you couldn’t tell from my past posts, I love to frequent fast fashion places. Not because I’m broke but because they are, at time, the most breathable pieces.

Valentine’s Day in the City

In Personal Style

Happy Monday!

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I found some time to take a few flicks of myself before dinner. I’ve always hated the idea of Valentine’s Day, but I am not one to turn down a free meal either. I’m not one of those cynics who claims to hate all holidays but the truth is, I haven’t had someone to celebrate this day with in a while. It’s always been a  Singles Awareness Day  for me. I’m okay with that too. Only holiday I really like to celebrate is Haitian Independence Day!

We really got stuff poppin’ in 1803-1805!

I digress, me and my girls had a very early celebration of love amongst each other (mostly because they already had plans with their significant others and I plan to go NY to seem my favorite Haitian band). Like other holidays, I feel that Valentine’s is one of those days you can overly dress up…just because. Like Halloween, I like to over do it with my apparel…so for dinner, I felt like being the curvy lady (you clearly all don’t remember) from Titanic!

Rarely will you catch me not smiling in my pictures. If you do, it’s because I am feeling myself!

I know the cape thing has been done to death, but I couldn’t resist wearing this cape from Fashion to Figure! It was the perfect read to g with my all black look.

Also, I bought this sheer dress from Rebdolls back in November, but I am happy I actually got around to wearing it. It provides just the right amount of SEXY!  The REBDOLLS “SMOOTH OPERATOR” SLEEVELESS MESH MIDI DRESS is now on sale! Get them while you can!

The fascinator  provided the final touch to my Titanic-like outfit. There are plenty online for 20+ dollars, but try your local thrift shops to see if there’s anything you can find. You may be surprised!

Happy Friday!

Today, I am very excited to introduce the first part of my vision board for 2016: Partnership. Over the past year, I’ve been mulling over whether I would want to bring on a male contributor. I’ve received many inquiries from men who are looking for clothing but I could only refer them to a few male bloggers who didn’t always fit their criteria.

One day, I reached out to my friend Kavah and asked him, “How would you feel about being a contributor for Plus Size Beausion?” After much deliberation, he was on board.

Now you’re probably wondering, “What’s a male contributor doing on your blog?” It’s quite simple, MY BLOG…MY RULES! No, but really; I believe that partnership should be encourage amongst all people. There’s a delicate balance in life that I would like to keep working on and leveling the playing field is a great first step.

Not only will Kavah give his personal style and fashion tips to the blog, but he will be the ring leader in my newest segment: Fitness Fridays! I will talk more about this later, but without further adieu, KAVAH KING.

Hailing from Brooklyn, NY,  Kavah is an artist in all sense of the word. He officially launched his style and fitness blog; The Gentlemen’s Curb , in December 2015 and is consistently building his name is the world of fashion.

His blog  promotes physical wellness, on the inside and out. If you feel great on the inside, it will surely show on the outside.  As a bigger male,  he was routinely excluded from
the latest fashion trends, cheering on the sidelines and never a participant.  Also, when he’s not dabbling in the world of art, he constantly trying to build a healthier self.

Instead of writing more about Kavah, I will let all of my readers see Kavah’s talents for themselves!

But for now, if you’d like to see more of his work, check him out at his social channels:

Shapewear Express

Happy Hump Day!

As of late, I’ve been exploring with different forms of shape wear. Growing up, I was so anti shape wear. Today, I realize that the proper shape wear can make or break a look that you’re going for.

When Diva Curves reached out tome about reviewing their latest line of shape wear, I was  a little hesitant. But after researching about them and Plus Model Mag; a magazine that has never steered me wrong, I WAS ALL IN!

Different people have different opinions about what the function of shape wear should be. I can go over all of them BUT, my definition is plain and simple: sucks in the gut and smooths out the lumps in my butt. I’ve tried other shape wear in the past but Diva Curves takes the cake for me!

The product I am specifically reviewing is Long Black Compression Garment.

Disclaimer: This is for hardcore shaping. If you are interested in something lighter for all day wear, this isn’t for you. It will make you look smooth and firm in all the right places in your tight cocktail dress, though!

Here’s a before picture wearing a dress from Qristyl Frazier. The dress was slightly loose on me.

When I tried on the shapwear, it must have taken me in about 2 sizes and I was still able to breathe comfortably.

Can you see the difference? It does exactly what I would like shape wear to do: Suck in and Smooth Out!

Here’s what the dress looked like after:

IMG_2605.jpg w-sw

It actually became so big that I had to pin it in the back. Even with the dress being pinned in, there’s still a flawless look. You can’t even see the under garment.

The first two times you wear it, you have to get used to it. But after you’ve worn it a couple of times, it’s a lot easier to wear.

Make sure you check out Diva Curves if you’re looking for extra hold!

Happy Shaping!
