Samar Necklace from Stella & Dot
With Spring already making a chilling appearance, Spring sales are already making their debuts. As much as I love following trends, I am an avid recycler of my beloved winter finds.
Two weeks ago, I posted three items that I scored for $60.00 at Eloquii! And when Natalie in the City showed me what she scored from the Eloquii sale, it was a no-brainer: Collab! When we compared the items we got, we saw that we had similar items…probably because we are each other’s spirit animal. So we thought we could highlight how to shift some of last season’s finds to the temperamental Spring season.
The dress I chose to go with was Eloquii’s Faux Bustier Wrap Dress. There’s an impressive duality to fitted dresses because you can pair it with a fit and flare skirt and use it as a top. 90% of the time, I always do this because I hate wearing shapewear lol. Although this is sold out, Eloquii never fails because their V-Neck off the Shoulder, Tweed Tie Neck Dress with Chiffon Sleeves, and Long Sleeve Off the Shoulder Twofer Top are JUST AS FAB! And instead of buying something supplemental, I decided to feature a past item and an item I didn’t get to show on the blog! My tried & true Dusk and Stunner Midi Skirt had to make another debut! There’s something about this skirt that brings out leopard maniac in me. So a little layering with my Caitlin Animal Wool Look Coat virtually sealed the deal for me.
Lastly, a little bit of accessorizing never hurt! Octoly sent me this beautiful necklace from Stella & Dot! Although it’s a pretty penny, I am IN LOVE WITH IT! Like you will see it a few times…like next week lol. Paired with my favorite clutch and pumps from Amazon Fashion, I was totes ready for this weird Winter/Spring Day!
And check out Natalie’s look!! Isn’t she a babe? I need to incorporate more denim into my wardrobe! Check out her blog to get her deets!!
As both a blogger and working professional, a white button up shirt is a go-to staple in my closet because I can dress it up or dress it down for multiple occasions. Lately, I have been dressing my white button ups with a black bow tie or a sharp blazer, but I wanted to try a different take on this all- time favorite piece. This long sleeve off the shoulder twofer top from Eloquii caught my eye. The blouse got me excited about the off the shoulder trend—which is circling back this spring and summer—and the top also gave me a new way to energize the white button up look. I’m wearing a size 16, and I would recommend ordering a size larger than your usual fit as the top can run a bit tight. However, I can’t wait to pair this piece with leather skirts, more ripped denim, and a sleek pair of black dress pants. – Natalie in the City

Have you ever been in your feelings so bad that you feel trapped? Your job ain’t right. Your blog is slowly dying. Your love life is like walking on broken glass. Your scale moves faster than a Richter because you’ve been up and down on your weight. School feels like the second coming. Yea–that was me. ALL OF THAT WAS ME throughout the entire month of February and most of March. Last week was the first time I took a much-needed break. I didn’t blog, didn’t do school work, and didn’t even go to the gym. I just went to church, and of course, God spoke to me, “YOUS A SAVAGE!”
For the longest time, I’ve been putting my hopes in other people. For two years, I legit placed a huge piece of my happiness in the hands of someone who was going through their own thing—talk about playing with fire. I started going to gym and realize that I was taking my health for granted. It’s like I woke up and didn’t know that I was privileged to not only afford a state of the art gym but that I could attend one with minimal physical restrictions. I was taking advantage of food and family.
But most importantly, I was taking advantage of God breathing life, family, love, and the spirit of savagery into me. With said, I am right back on track. Doing whatever makes me happy and developing habits of being grateful for it. On the outside, many people think I have it together–heck, my momma thinks I’m superwomen. And you know, she’s right! I just had to realize that I placed too much of my energy and time trying to fit in, trying to be the perfect girlfriend, trying to be the best version of me for other people. FUCK THAT SHIT. I can’t think of the last time ANYONE has bent that hard for me.
So in the spirit of savagery and “sorry not sorry”- hood, enjoy the blog and the transitions that I’m making. I’m happy to let y’all in on this journey and please don’t be a stranger.
OH YEA–AND SORRY NOT SORRY!

Until next time,
Today, we are closing in on the installment of Plus Size Beausion Print Mixing series–but don’t worry, I feel like such expert at mixing prints that it’ll be hard NOT TO post moRE daring combinations.
I am rounding out the series using items from my closet. Now, you may remember my post entitled, “That Uptown Sweet Funk“. In that post, I talked about how statement pieces can be re-purposed for different outfits. As a blogger, I have a habit of wearing something, then never wearing it again because it made such a statement the first time I wore it. Shop Sweet Mod’s April Shower’s Skirt is one of those items that you can keep re-purposing–no matter how much of a statement it makes.
I paired Shop Sweet Mod’s April Showers Skirt with an off the shoulder top from Eloquii. Although this shirt is sold out, they have an identical crop that is just as beautiful! But hey, the Spring is nigh, so it’s not too late to take a stab at it!
A piece of me wanted to wear leopard shoes to finish the look, but I had to step back from that because I knew it would look tacky. Instead, I paired this look with my suede turquoise pumps from Amazon. They actually brought out the cerulean hues in the Shop Sweet Mod’s April Showers Skirt .
Accessorizing came pretty easy for me. My Daniel Wellington Classic Black Watch, with the cuff to match, has become a PSB favorite! Don’t forget, use code BEAUSION15 to get 15% off your first order! And to make this dinner date friendly, my clutch from JD Williams coordinated with the watch so perfectly!
What do you think of the look? What are some ways you would style this skirt?
