Dia 7

Happy Friday All! I wanted to introduce a super cool styling service that goes by the name of Dia&Co.  So how does the styling service work? It’s pretty simple. There is a $20 styling fee to use this service, but it is refunded back to you if you buy anything from their personalized style selection.

It can be explained in three easy steps.

It can be explained in three easy steps.

When the great team at Dia&Co reached out to me to test out the service, I was a little hesitant. I know that I have such a unique sense of style and couldn’t imagine someone nailing down my do’s and dont’s. But the great thing about Dia&Co is not only do they conduct a great style search based on your preferences, they also open your eyes to different styles that you may not realize looks great until you try it on.  Pretty neat huh?

After completing my style profile, Dia&Co sent me a box of 5 items. Along with the 5 items they sent me, there were prices attached to them. Now, I work for the Mayor of Boston, therefore bridging the gap between trendy but professional is pretty hard. What makes matters even harder is trying to do with lots of hips and curves. Dia&Co truly helped bridged that gap with all the trendy options they packaged to me.

Dia&Co truly takes the cake as the best styling service because they offer a few tidbits about how to wear the pieces. I decided to take on the task of styling one my favorite pieces from their choices for me.

One of my favorite pieces (that I am sooooo keeping) is this red blazer from Michael Kors.  I didn’t want to do something that I’ve done before and I didn’t want to go “too out there” with it either. But thanks to Dia&Co, they get us covered.  For any items that you don’t like, Dia&Co provides a return postage bag to ship it back to them. They also ask you to rate the garments that you received to better help them gauge for you styling needs.  Doesn’t this feel so stress free?

Attached to each of the garments are these little tags that spark a few ideas about what to do with the pieces. I loved the idea of pairing it with denim and to be honest, I don’t think that would’ve came to mind either. Here is what I came up with:

The pop of color truly made this outfit a nice casual Friday outfit for work.

Now I know I vowed to keep tartan/plaid in 2014 but how could I when I had this vintage skirt screaming to be paired with my blazer from Dia&Co.

To finish it off, I had a pair with my favorite winter accessories: ALL BLACK EVERYTHING!

Pinky in the Rain

Happy Friday Everyone!

This past weekend, it kept raining in Boston. I mean pouring! I couldn’t think of a better opportunity to feel like I was in Twilight then Sunday before church. I recently got a few new items added to my wardrobe that I wanted to share with you all!

F21 1

Now, this sweater from Forever 21 is the BEES KNEES!! I LOVE IT!  Now there aren’t many left online but if you check in store, you will find a whole bunch!

Another thing I realized is don’t like to accessorize much. This year I made a commitment to purchasing new bags, coats, earrings, etc. The smallest accessory can make or break an outfit.

Another fashion piece I am starting to get used to are flats! I used to hate flats because at times they make me look like I have can-ckles! I swear I don’t but I do have a wide foot…which makes me feel less inclined to wear them. But hey, these are gonna be my feet forever so I might as well make the best of them!

The #TuTuFix

If there’s one thing I can’t seem to leave in 2014, it is the trend. I’ve yet to try one on and feel need to wear a girdle or worry that it’s rolling down. This time around, I felt the need to find a tutu that would go with everything! So here’s my #TutuFix

When my tutu came in from Voluptuous Vixen, I was trying to think of ways that I can wear it in the winter. My three favorite combos are Black and Gold (hence the heels and clutch), Silver and Gold (which was always the golden rule not to wear) and Black and Silver. After much deliberation, I decided to go black and grey (with a hint of my favorite color combinations for good measure).

When my friend asked me, “why do you mix your golds and silvers together” I could only reply with a smile. I love them ha!

Tutu 6

This sweater I bought over two years ago from Forever 21 has always been a winter staple in my closet. But unfortunately, it’s getting too big for me (side note, you can see wear the sweater is hanging off my body so it looks like I have major side boob). I wish I could buy another one but, I can’t only find similar ones! The wool is to die for.

What I love about this Tutu is that it’s very reinforced! There’s at least 3 layers under this bad boy!
